Hej, my name is Nicole, and I'm the dyer behind Little Mittens Yarn Co. My journey into the fiber arts began when my grandmother taught me how to crochet as a child. I started knitting in 2022, and it has since become an essential part of my daily life.
At Little Mittens Yarn Co., an emphasis is placed on wearable colorways, which usually focuses on dainty speckles and subtle color transitions. The colorways are often inspired by florals and nature that tend to be a combination of soft, delicate shades and vibrant jewel tones.
Little Mittens Yarn Co. originally launched in Japan in February 2025. I moved to Uppsala, Sweden in August 2025 to pursue a master's in sustainable development. I hope to use what I learn to make Little Mittens Yarn Co. a sustainable small business, in the truest sense.
I chose the name "Little Mittens Yarn Co." as I am from Michigan, which is known as the "Mitten State" because it's shaped like a mitten. My dog is also name Mitten, and you can see him depicted in the logo.
